Amazing gem in the district. Stumbled upon it on one of ny trips and came back later with no expectations for the open mic show they do around 8pm. Just magical. Good comedy, music, interaction with audiences. Music inn is just minutes away from comedy cellar and blue note which you need to book well in advance, however if planning a month ahead is not for you, this place welcomes walk inns and can provide unexpected entertainment and interactions.
Also featured as a record store in Marvelous Mrs.Maisel!
Highly recommended.

Very cool shop! So many musical instruments. The variety is amazing. Most if not all seemed to have some history, which in my opinion adds to the beauty of the piece. It is tightly packed. Not very much room to move around in, which is fine. There is a museum like vibe as you walk through the tight quarters. I mean that in a good way. The staff was nice and willing to answer any questions I had. The lighting definitely could be improved, but with all of the instruments hanging from the ceiling, I think they were doing the best the could. It's one of those places you have to visit a second time.

This shop is fabulous! It is dimly lit and packed with instruments from floor to ceiling. It’s like going into a forgotten attic in an old mansion.
I found a ukulele when I was “cleaning“ under my piano. I couldn’t get the G string to tune and another string was slipping. The super friendly staff were happy to help and I left with a functioning uke, some new knowledge, a recommendation for a store in Astoria that has ukulele open mics, and a new case.

If you are a musician, a place to come a visit. Nothing fancy but very cozy atmosphere with lots of instruments from other places of the world. The guys were very kind and friendly. I even got to jam with them. Will come back for sure.

I liked the variety of instruments and the fact you can try everything, I didn't like the way some of the stuff treated us (negative comments about the playing, impatience etc. in my perspective it's very important that players that try an instrument could do it freely without being judged or criticised. this is a music store, and music is subjective after all.)
Otherwise, a very cool place!
