Wow - Down for the Count blew us away. We couldn’t have asked for more on our wedding day!

Before the wedding we had lots of ideas on how we wanted to include live music. Mike couldn't have been more helpful, finding a way to incorporate everything we wanted - including a last minute request of 'Stand by Me' in the church and roaming musicians outside during the reception canapes! Mike created a number of custom orchestrations for us, including our first dance to ‘Something Beautiful’.

The live music helped set the tone for a perfect day. We had the string quartet and vocalist at the church, which was stunningly beautiful and very emotional, a roaming trio during canapés at the reception to get everyone in the party mood and a 10 piece band for the evening reception to keep everyone on the dance floor all night.

We originally booked Down for the Count as they promised to have all our guests on the dance floor all night - they did not disappoint! Many of our guests commented afterwards that they’d never danced so much at a wedding!

We had so many compliments from our guests about the band. All of the music throughout the day took our breath away. Mike and the band made our day so special, we really can't recommend them highly enough.

I can't recommend Down for the Count enough! We contacted them to hire jive dancers for a 1950s style surprise birthday party for a special 92yr old. Adam and Jasmine came to the event and were simply exceptional. They were both so friendly, welcoming and fun and put all the guests at ease immediately, their energy and talent was a joy to watch and contagious, as it encouraged everyone to want to join in on the dance floor. People of all ages were up there dancing, and it's all thanks to them for making everyone excited and relaxed. Their performance, jive lesson and dancing on and off through the night were exceptional! So many friends and family commented on how amazing they were and the energy they brought to the night. So thank you very much to them, and to Down for the count for helping to make my grandfather's birthday such a special night to remember. I will definitely be recommending yourselves to everyone for the future!

We are thrilled that we chose Down for the Count as our wedding band. A fantastic group of musicians who made our day so much more special. They are extremely versatile, and we loved their style, energy, and repertoire. Mike (the band manager) was extremely helpful and professional throughout, guiding us through the various options - from the band's outfits to music choices. We booked the band for the whole day, including jazz sets during the reception, ceremony music, the first dance, and then two hours of dancing! They were absolutely amazing and their performance (music, sound, etc) was just perfect. We would not hesitate to recommend Down for the Count to anyone who is looking for a superb wedding band!

What a fantastic band! We want to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU for all you did at our event we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The band were amazing, and were very attentive. Wow, Wow, Wow!!!

We cannot recommend The Get Downs highly enough!!
The eight piece version of the band played at our daughter's wedding at Farnham Castle on 9 July 2022 and were absolutely fabulous!
From the outset, communication with Mike was great and he answered all our many questions quickly and efficiently.
On the day, the band arrived in good time and set up extra fast which kept our timings on track. The band were just fantastic and from the first to the last note of their two one hour sets the dance floor was completely full. All the musicians and singers were wonderful and everyone commented on how incredible they were. Definitely not your average wedding band! The Sound Engineer, Tom, also provided an 'Almost DJ' service which was great.
Thank you for making the wedding reception so memorable.

We cannot rate Down for the Count highly enough. We had a 5 person band who played for our wedding party on 23/9/21 and they were amazing! Several guests commented on how much they enjoyed the music. As musicians ourselves we were keen for a high quality band and Down for the Count were perfect. From our initial meeting through to the day itself, Mike and the band members provided a very welcoming and personal service-he was very prompt with all communication, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I have put their Christmas Album on my Christmas list 🙂 Thank you to Mike and all the band for providing such fantastic entertainment . We would definitely book again for a special event.

Quite honestly the best wedding band ever- we chose Down for the Count having enjoyed hearing them play at a friend’s wedding the year before. When we were thinking about wedding venues, the first thing we checked was that the band were available for our dates as we would not have gone for anyone else! We were amazed the first time and loved their music even more the second time around on our wedding day too. Could not have asked for a better band to celebrate our special day. Highly recommend!
