Came for the crumb cake. The serving is huge! The crumb topping is delicious. Thick and powdery. A little thin on the cake part, but it was fresh and chewy.
This is an old school bakery. Just a counter displaying lots of baked goods. Cash only so plan accordingly, though they do have an ATM on premises.
Street parking. Kids will enjoy the seasonal items - right now Halloween and some fun ? cupcakes and cookies.

Whatever I am about to say about B&W Bakery, I am quite certain must have been said many times before. This isn't some new-fangled, Tik Tok inspired bakery serving nouveau riche desserts for the in-crowd....but then again, it is.

This bakery is exactly what you would create if you were designing a bakery for a movie set and wanted absolutely nobody questioning its authenticity.

From the workers, to the owners, to the bakers, to the baked goods, B&W is as authentic as you can get...and it's the kind of bakery that is a dying breed.

For the past two years I have waited on a line in front of this bakery to purchase their INSANELY GOOD crumb cake...to bring to a family of people in Staten Island, who lived in Brooklyn and had a family member being them crumb cake every Sunday. They have been on a quest to find a crumb cake that was comparable to the memory of the one they used to have.

I went to every "great" bakery in NJ and brought a crumb cake to them from each.

The ONLY one they want, from now on, is the one made at B&W. Period.

Get in your car...it's worth whatever it takes to get there. Get ANYTHING. Brownies, pecan pie, etc. But do yourself a favor, get a couple crumb cakes...put on a pot of coffee and invite some company over. The cake will do the rest.

Finally got to try the crumb cake! I never tried it before since it's just me and my husband and no way we could finish one alone. So I decided to pick one up for a housewarming we were going to. It was a Saturday at around noon, and there were a few people waiting in line. But shortly after we ordered, came the rush. They sell it whole (I don't believe they do slices), which is probably the size of one of Entenmann's crumb cakes. But this one is much better - though I'm sure there is just as much butter and sugar. The best part is that it only cost about $11. We bought a few other items too, including cannolis, eclairs, and petit fours. The petit fours come out to about $1 a piece but these were way too sweet for us. There was an almond danish that caught my eye, so I'll definitely have to come back to try that.

Cookies kinda ok, crumb cake was really dry, Entemanns a store brand is way butter, doesn’t say a lo. I used to really enjoy their brownies but they have really gotten smaller, like half the size. I will never go back as the customer service just plain sucks. The young girl that took my order made me want to walk out of the place. She had an attitude the entire time like she was doing me a favor. I had asked if she was ok and just stared and me and said what else. This is sad cause this kinda was a good place but bad employees will ruin a good business.

of the Famous Heavy Crumb Cake". Serving Hackensack, NJ for over 90 years, this institution is famous for their crumb cake but it's worth checking out their other goodies like the cherry cheesecake! Trust me when I tell you this will be the best crumb cake you will ever have in your life. Unfortunately, I did not remember to take a picture before diving right into it, but the crumbs were MASSIVE! My dad has been going to this bakery ever since he was young, and although he does not live in NJ anymore, we stop here any chance we get. It is sooo worth the drive.

Bought 2 crumb cakes and five cookies.. the heavy cakes crushed the cookies to crumbs in the package! Paid 78$ for the order, took a week to arrive and the crumb cakes were so stale and old they were uneatable! Will never order from here again! Save your money! Emailed them my complaint and never heard back! Totally disappointed!
