I started my journey in bellydance in a fitness class in Washington DC in 2022. I came out to California last summer and discovered LA Bellydance Academy (LABA) just by luck. All of the staff was warm and welcoming. I attended every beginning class that I could fit into my schedule. I learned to love the dance so much that I joined a local bellydance performance studio in Washington DC. I have returned to LA this summer with two beginning performances under my belt but I am so happy to be back. LABA is still incredible with all of the hip and traditional Arabic music, huge selection of classes and techniques. Stefanya, Erica and Sarah are talented as well as encouraging and supportive. They also have a store for bellydance gear and costumes so I now have plenty of accessories. Last year was a great introduction but this year, LA Bellydance Academy has reinforced my love for bellydance in all forms and expanded my techical skills. I am happy to be part of the LABA community.

So nice bellydance studio with big trainer mirror dance class and little bit smaller another one. Looks pretty. Good location. You can buy costumes and accessories here.

Had my first beginner bellydance level 1 class and thought it was so much fun. They had an actual percussionist performing while we were learning. Instructor incorporated the importance of posture with feet alignment and broke down the moves. It was an amazing experience that I signed up for the intro classes beginning in January. Would love to learn more and can't wait to start. They also have a cute boutique upstairs. <3

I am very much enjoying being part of L.A Bellydance Academy. The instructors Stephania and Sarah Alma are amazingly talented. They both create a welcoming environment for all the dancers. They both have tremendously helped me to acquire dancing skills. When I first came I was in a scale from -10 (minus 10) to 5, in the -10 ( I had no dancing skills at all). I am very satisfied now to be at the 1!!
I highly recommend attending dance training (on Saturdays) this training has helped me with my pelvic and overall body posture and has been healing for me. Also recommend and all the other level classes. They are beneficial to all level dancers.

I've had an amazing experience at L.A. Belly Dance Academy! The teachers are experienced, renowned dancers who have something to offer for all students, from beginners to professional dancers. They are great at breaking down the basic movements, but can also give helpful tips about movement, performance, placement, and choreography for more experienced students in the class. I knew very little about belly dance when I started coming to this school and I feel that I've learned to much! I especially love the performance opportunities we are given at this school. We've performed at showcases, in neighborhood festivals, on stage at festivals, and even on TV.

We hired one of the LA Bellydance Academy teachers, Leolani, for a cultural event for our National Charity League group of 7th graders. From the start, the company was very responsive and helpful in finding and organizing a teacher to drive up to Ventura for our event. Leolani was extremely professional and kind and engaging for the girls. She was an amazing teacher and even gave us some historical background on Hawaii and hula (bonus!) she got our group of 13 year olds up dancing hula in from of their moms and they did amazing! What a great experience. I highly recommend this business and specifically Leolani! Thank you!!

Stevie is great at teaching not only advanced dancers but also beginners because she has much knowledge of dancing and body. She teaches everyone nicely and is very encouraging. This academy offers a lot of stage experiences but not mandatory. The studio is big and has colorful lightings. Also I love her belly yoga. I would recommend everyone to open the door of mid city arts center.

L.A Bellydance Academy has been my first dance class I have taken, I been in Intro Bellydance for some time and I just love it! Sarah and Stephanya always go out their way to make me progress and I am happy to say that I have made a HUGE impact on my moves. It’s a really comfortable and enjoyable environment, there prices are worth it and no doubt you’ll be delighted with the many moves you will learn.
