This review is for Musika Studio in Costa Mesa, CA. A friend recommended Musika Studio, and we are so thankful that she did! My soon to be 7-year-old son started taking piano lessons last summer 2017 in August. His teacher’s name is Miss Saousan Jarjour, who is the director, voice, and piano teacher. From an elementary teacher’s perspective, I want to share with you why we chose Musika Studio for our son. .

Location. Location. Location… and Parking matters!
Musika Studio is located near Harbor Blvd and Mesa Verde Dr. in a community shopping plaza. The school is very accessible if you live in Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Fountain Valley, or Santa Ana. I’ve never had any problems finding parking when arriving right in time for his scheduled piano lesson.

Differentiated music classes based on the needs of the students.
Miss Saousan is very talented in teaching piano and voice. What’s striking is that she is genuinely kind, extremely patient, and has a special gift working with young children. I immediately noticed this when I got to observe her working with my son (who is a typical 6-year-old boy) at the free trial lesson. I knew right away that she’s a perfect match for him. My son is very active and has a short attention span (sometimes a little strong-willed), but she gets him. Miss Saousan uses different hands-on strategies to maintain his focus and engagement. She breaks the 30 minute lesson up into fun and interactive games on the rug when learning music theory. She always sets clear expectations on the whiteboard in the room and my son checks each box as he completes them. She praises him verbally as well as rewards him with cool stickers. My son tells me that he especially loves her beautiful voice. She’s a professionally trained opera singer, so yes, her voice is very delightful to listen to when I record his homework lessons for the week to practice at home. Furthermore, after reading her bio on the website, I learned that she specializes in children with special needs or learning differences, such as autism. She embraces my son’s qualities and modifies her lessons as needed to meet his needs. I really appreciate her efforts to maximize his learning within the short 30 minutes of class.

Recitals are the sweetest!
My son experienced his first piano recital this past Christmas Holiday, 2018. It was held at a Presbyterian Church on Fairview in Costa Mesa, which is conveniently located down the street from where we live. After 30 min a day/per week and for about three months, he was able to play “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” and he is able to site read. After each recital, students received a personalized metal Santa ornament with Musika Studio and the year engraved, which we will definitely keep as a memorabilia. I especially appreciated how she reserved the first pew for parents to record and take pictures of their child(ren) when they were performing.

Professional and friendly staff is a BONUS!
I absolutely love Alma, Musika Studio’s receptionist! She is very professional, sweet, and she is ready to answer my questions or make accommodations for my family in a heartbeat. I briefly met the other staff members they are super friendly and welcoming. Just talk to Alma to book your free trial music class. You won't regret it!

My little sister has been taking voice lessons with Saousan for 4yrs and has loved every second of it! Saousan and her team of teachers are some of the most passionate and caring individuals you will ever meet. They treat everyone that comes into Musika Studio like family and that is something hard to find when looking for a music studio. Not only are the teachers talented but they also have a passion for teaching others and that is something not all talented performers can do.
We are now adding my little nephew into the Mommy and Me class this Fall! My family and I definitely recommend Musika Studio for private and group lessons.

Our 6 year old daughter has been taking piano lessons at Musika Studio and has loved every lesson. She even enjoys practicing piano at home because the lessons are age-appropriate but also challenging. Her teacher, Saousan, encourages her to be creative and take ownership of her learning experience. The location is convenient, and the studio is very welcoming and comfortable. I highly recommend this studio to anyone, regardless of age.

We first saw Saousan sing at our church and loved her voice, grace and stage presence. Since then we have asked her to teach our daughter (10) to sing and play the piano and our son (7) to play the piano. Saousan is as wonderful a teacher as she is a performer. She has been extremely patient and great with our son who is a beginner and who can be challenging to teach at times. Our daughter started out taking 30min private lessons but liked learning from Saousan so much that she requested that we increase her lesson time with Saousan to 1 hour so that she can have plenty of time to practice voice and piano with her. Our daughter feels that Saousan is a very caring teacher who is very thorough in her teachings. She takes all the time that she needs to give you great feedback and will patiently work with you until you are both satisfied with the end result. Our daughter has improved tremendously in her singing and in playing the piano and looks forward to come to her lessons every week. Saousan is also very accommodating and has helped our daughter prepare for auditions even at the last minute. Our son has also steadily progressed (yay!) The staff at Musika Studio is also very nice, professional and helpful. Musika Studio is truly a gem and we can't recommend it enough!

If you are looking for a music studio, look no further! My daughter has been taking voice lessons with Saousan since she was 9 years old (now she is 16) and we feel so lucky to have found her. My daughter adores Saousan and she is part of our family now. I am amazed how she has taught her to mature her voice and achieve even the high notes with such control. To become a singer requires the right teacher and Saousan is it. They also work together on singing while playing the piano. Saousan listens to your needs and responds accordingly. They sing the songs that my daughter requests. She also helps her prepare for auditions.
The studio itself is clean and easily located. The other instructors are very friendly. My nephew also takes piano lessons and he loves it too.
Can't say enough good things!!!

The most magical place on Earth (right after Disneyland)! The teachers are amazing; Saousan is an marvelous singer and voice/piano teacher and so is Melody! Eric is so cool and supportive! My daughters are having so much fun at Musika Studios and I would recommend any parents willing to let their children enjoy music and find a new family to try this place out!

She is patient (my little guy has a lot of energy!), she is sweet, she encourages him and he is progressing so well! I've been bringing my 5yr. old daughter here for piano and voice lessons for several months now. We absolutely love it! Prior to coming here we had looked at two other options, another studio, and also a teacher that would come to the house. I'm so glad we opted for a studio class. My daughter is very focused on her lessons here without the distractions of home. After having our free class, we knew it was the place for us!
The entire staff is so welcoming. They all know my daughters name and greet her personally. Her teacher, Melody, is fantastic with my daughter!
