I just bought a well taken care of, one of a kind jazz guitar in the Azure Dr. shop. It was set up, hot rodded with an upgraded, single coil pick up for a lovely, full round tone and with a gorgeous, sunburst flamed finish. When I'm in town, I avoid the big box guitar shops where you're just a number. The guys at Family Music Center worked with me, were personable and more than fair on pricing. I went in looking for something rare which, besides playing, is a hobby of sorts but, for you beginners, start at Family Music Center. They'll treat you right with fair prices and without the big egos. I'll buy here again!

I had the pleasure of taking drum lessons from Adam. There's so much that can be said about this guy. He is a genius at his craft, smart, professional, patient, & all around multi-talented. I'm a beginner but I've learned so much in just a few months of attending. Plz, if ur contemplating drum lessons go to Family Music.. The experience will enhance ur life.

I have been to too.many guitar store / repair shops, but none of them compares to the great experience i had with this store.

Bill , the store manager and repair specialist was so knowledgable and did the best guitar work on my telecaster.

The store is super clean with a friendly staff Definitely my go-to guitar store. 5 stars !!!

My daughter took violin lesson here. From the first day my daughter started music lessons, the music teacher would always ask what my daughter was learning in school (since she also had orchestra at school and was taking violin lessons there)… she would mainly go over whatever my daughter was learning in school. They even had a spring recital here, it was really nice but my daughter did 2 pieces she learned from school…..Then over the summer the teacher would teach her a little bit more, then as soon as school started again she wanted to know what she was learning so she could go off that. I would have liked for my daughter to learn a lot more than what she was learning at school which is why I was paying for the music lessons…. Every single month she would text, she couldn’t come in for lessons due to being sick, or car trouble and this was such an inconvenience because we would have to double up that week or try to find another day that would work for us. She also was horrible at communicating. One time I came all the way up to the center and they were closed and she didn’t bother to tell me and it was not on the calendar she gave me. When I went to the owner to tell him my concerns and that I wanted another teacher his reply was “Nope, she’s my only violin teacher” he didn’t offer an apology or to even talk to her about anything… The following week I had an issue with her and decided to address it with her and she said understood and would do better then 2 days later she text me saying she had to drop my daughter because I was disrespectful…. She was just lazy and didn’t want to teach. What a waste of time and money. As soon as the owner told me he couldn’t give us another teacher I started looking for a another teacher and I guess I needed that extra push because my daughter is doing a lot better now that we’ve switched and I see what my concerns were valid seeing how her new teacher is, compared to the one we had here.

I couldn't believe I found this place. I've been in the music industry for over 46 years and there are few places that provide the professionalism and expertise that Bill Erikson does. He even had a Gibson SG Bass restored to original condition hanging on the wall. Also guitar bodies ready for custom fit. I can only imagine what he had going on in the back.

I dropped my flute off for a simple repair and cleaning. It had a slight leak on the F# key, and was due for its annual adjustments and cleaning. They said it would take a week to ten days to get everything tuned up.

After two weeks we called to see what was taking so long and we were told that it was still sitting on a shelf in Henderson and they hadn't even started with it yet. I had a concert that week and had to play on my beginner's flute because of this.

After around three weeks they finally called to say that it was ready. I came in and played it a little before paying (luckily), and found that my F# key was bent out of place. The cleaning and everything else was fine, but I physically could not play an F# whereas when I dropped it off it was just a little airy due to the leak. This is completely not ok for me to drop off an instrument and pick it up worse than how I left it.

The man at the front desk fixed the bent key for me, but me and my family will not be returning here.
